Design Philosophy

Power is not defined by force.
It is defined by how that force responds.

Bone density changes. Angles change. Pressure changes.
Your intent does not.

Ergonomics

Signature S‑curve.
Natural in the hand.

A distinctive S‑curve follows the shape of the hand, bringing grip, balance and controls together in one considered form. It settles comfortably into the palm and keeps essential controls within reach — guiding the hand into the same secure grip every time, with less strain and better control, case after case.

  • Natural fit
  • Balanced and stable

Trigger Control

Immediate response.
Tuned to your intent.

No sluggish ramp‑up, no waiting for the motor to catch up. The instrument responds directly to the trigger, translating subtle movements into immediate changes in motion.

Each instrument has its own trigger curve: the rotary drill is linear for precise control, while the saws reach cutting speed early — for cutting efficiency and less heat build‑up in bone.

Audio Cues

Audible feedback.
Stay focused on the procedure.

Ultimate confirms key states with sound, including connection and low battery, so the surgeon receives essential feedback without looking away from the procedure.

Handpiece

Dual Trigger Rotary Drill.

Ultimate brings forward, reverse and oscillation together in one handpiece. Dual triggers keep key functions within reach without changing grip, while the integrated Drill / Ream selector adapts the operating range to the task.

Compatible rotary attachments extend the handpiece to K‑wire, pin and other rotary applications — from the keyed Jacobs chuck and AO and Hudson adaptors to the adjustable K‑wire / pin collet.

Dual Trigger Rotary Drill

Oscillation Mode.
More control when soft tissue matters.

Forward Reverse Oscillation

Three motion modes, switched instantly with the dual triggers — without changing your grip. In continuous rotation, a spinning bit or wire can catch soft tissue and wind it up. In oscillating mode the tip alternates direction: it still cuts bone, but soft tissue does not keep winding around it — safer near tendons, vessels and nerves, and easier to start a hole precisely.

Dual Trigger Rotary Drill

Drill and ream.
Integrated in one handpiece.

A rotating selector sleeve switches between high‑speed drilling and high‑torque reaming — no need to change handpieces.

Adjustable collet.
Consistent clamping force.

A wide diameter range should not come at the expense of grip. Turn the front sleeve to set the clamping opening to the wire, across the full range of 0.7 to 4.0 mm. Every size then gets the same clamping stroke — and the same clamping force.

Sagittal Saw.
Precise positioning and controlled cutting.

The Ultimate Sagittal Saw combines a rotatable cutting head with direct trigger control. Orient the blade to suit the surgical approach, then select Fast or Standard mode to match the demands of the cut.

Turn the blade,
not your wrist.

The saw head turns a full circle and locks every 45°. Set the blade to match the approach while your hand stays in a comfortable, stable grip — no awkward wrist angles, no compromise on the cut.

Handpiece

Reciprocating Saw.
Low vibration for a straighter, controlled cut.

Deep within a narrow surgical opening, the blade tip can be difficult to see, and excessive vibration makes it harder to hold the intended cutting line.

Ultimate is designed for a stable feel in the hand, helping the surgeon stay in control as the blade advances through the cut.

Surgical confidence.
Delivered.

EdgeMed develops surgical equipment and instruments for demanding procedures.

We focus on what matters in use — precise control, predictable response, and confidence when it counts.

In surgery, conditions are never constant. Resistance changes, contact shifts, and load varies with every movement. What matters is not peak performance, but a response that remains predictable and true to your intent.

That consistency is what builds confidence.

It shapes how we design — how a device starts, responds under load, and remains stable throughout a procedure.

Ultimate is the first expression of this approach.
